Our expert tutors, practical resources, and AI-enhanced tools will prepare you for success in your SQE2 exam
SQE2 is designed to assess your practical legal skills across a number of practice areas, so our preparation courses focus on just that. To pass, you need to demonstrate your ability to accurately advise clients and apply the law to different circumstances.
This includes interviewing clients, making advocacy presentations to the court, writing legal advice, identifying the right documents to use and being able to draft them yourself.
Our SQE2 preparation courses focus on getting you ready for the practical elements of the assessment, alongside further developing your legal knowledge and skills.
You wouldn’t be ready for a driving test without spending some time in a car and it’s the same for SQE2; you can’t just rely on reading a book — you need to practise too. Our experienced tutors and abundant resources will make sure you’re ready for the exam.
Your study plan will include access to:
We update our resources regularly to reflect any changes in the law or the SQE syllabus.
Our SQE2 preparation courses provide comprehensive support, including personalised tutor assistance, to help you learn and practise the essential techniques needed to pass.
The SQE2 course includes four stages:
Stage | Your Study Tools |
I – understanding the style, format and procedures of the SQE2 assessment | SQE2 exam day resources, course guide |
II – studying substantive and procedural law | Summary notes, flash cards, SQE video library |
III – learning and understanding the six skills | Practice questions, SQE Skills Online, legal skills video workshops with tutors’ instruction, English writing tasks |
IV – developing and practising your legal skills | Kaplan sample questions and suggested solutions, exam technique videos, summaries, 120/300 mock exams for self-assessment with AI-generated feedback (for most mocks), mock practice stations with personal tutor feedback |
If you follow your study plan and your tutor advice, you will be well-prepared for the SQE2 assessment.

Our digital flash cards are organised by topic and include short questions and answers. A great way to refresh your knowledge ahead of mock exams or real exams, too.
The practice questions include multiple exercises with proposed solutions that are based on a single scenario/case study common to that practice area.
The questions come with a variety of documents and forms which you may see in the formal SQE2 exam, such as a letter of claim and particulars of claim; board and members’ resolutions; defence and witness statements; a bail application; wills, IHT forms, and probate applications; transfer deeds, a copy of the register and site plan, and purchase and sale contracts.
Our 300 SQE2 mock exams with model answers give you the unique chance to master exam techniques with simulations that mirror the real thing. We have created a unique platform which resembles the SQE2 exam functionality on Pearson VUE for the written assessments, which are completed online, so you can get the feeling of a real exam environment.
This platform includes an AI-powered solution that provides instant feedback on your performance, analysing your responses against SRA assessment criteria to offer precise, actionable insights.
Familiarising yourself with the question pattern and getting used to the time restrictions are essential parts of your preparation. At the same time, you’ll be able to identify any gaps in your knowledge or practical application of it through mock exams.
The AI-generated feedback is instrumental in this process, helping you to quickly understand areas where your knowledge may be lacking or where your application of the law could be improved.
The mock exams cover all the legal practice areas and the skills tested in SQE2 (check the matrix to see the topics/skills covered by each of the tasks). Conversely, other providers may provide a restricted selection of practice exams, possibly missing out on extensive coverage of the potential topics that could be tested.

In the past, candidates have found these sessions to be the most helpful prep tool for their SQE2 assessment.
The sessions help you assess your level of knowledge, professional skills, and understanding of legal practice, showing you areas where you might need to do more work before taking the real assessment.
Your mock practice stations will be scheduled at times and dates mutually agreed upon with your tutors, ensuring your convenience and flexibility, in contrast to other providers that operate on pre-set dates or on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you’d like to know more, you can watch our video to get an in-depth overview of our SQE2 courses.
QLTS’s SQE2 preparation courses stand out from other training providers for several reasons:
We recommend a study period of 3-4 months for SQE2, dedicating about 15-20 hours each week. Some candidates might prefer to allow themselves a bit more time for preparation, and that’s perfectly acceptable. In fact, some individuals take up to 8 months to prepare for the SQE2 exam.
What’s more, there’s no fixed enrolment date. You can join the course at any time throughout the year that suits you. Plus, from 2024, Kaplan will be offering SQE2 four times a year. This gives you the flexibility to choose a study duration that aligns with your preferred preparation timeframe.
You don’t have to determine the timing of your exam at this moment. Your tutor will provide guidance during your initial consultation to help you pursue the most optimal approach.
As our SQE2 course isn’t rigidly structured around a set number of weeks or days for lecture attendance, there’s no need to worry about missing a lesson due to a busy schedule.
Ready to begin? You can sign up now and start preparing for the October 2024 exam, or even for January 2025 or April 2025. If your schedule is full and you need more preparation time, you can use the course and take the exam in July 2025 at no extra cost.
All our course packages include access to our SQE2 mock exams, including AI-generated feedback on most of our SQE2 written mock exams. This ensures you’ll be well-prepared and encounter no surprises on exam day.
Discover the best course package for you based on the content included, your background, and the level of tutor support you’ll need.
We also offer flexible funding for our courses.
You will have the initial consultation with your tutor after we receive your completed questionnaire. Please allow your tutor 2-3 working days to review your questionnaire and prepare for your initial consultation call.
Access to the online training system covers the first four consecutive sittings of the SQE2 assessment administered by the assessment provider from the date of your registration to the course, or until the date on which you have passed the SQE2 assessment, whichever happens first.
If you have signed up for the SQE2 Basic Course, you can always upgrade to unlock access to additional 180 mock exams for self-assessment for £390.
Starting from June 2023, we are pleased to offer extended course periods. If you wish to begin your SQE2 preparation ahead of time (which is highly recommended), you have the option to purchase your course in the same calendar month as, or the calendar month immediately preceding, the first day of a scheduled SQE2 assessment. By doing so, you will be granted an optional pre-prep period.
During this period, you will have limited access to SQE Learning until the conclusion of the nearest SQE2 assessment following the purchase of your course, but your course will cover five consecutive sittings rather than four sittings (or earlier if you have passed SQE2). To exercise the pre-prep period option, you must notify us by email within seven days of purchasing the course.
Our preparation courses are designed to bridge the gap between academic study and practical legal skills. The material has been developed specifically for SQE2, created by experienced tutors who understand the SRA’s requirements.
Our courses give you the chance to put your skills into practice, making sure you’re as prepared as you can be for the practical nature of the SQE2 assessment.
We’ve been helping aspiring solicitors prepare for and pass SQE and its predecessor, QLTS, for 10+ years. Our extensive experience will make sure you arrive prepared, calm and ready to pass when it’s time for your assessment.
